What Is SASU?

SASU, The Student Association of the State University of New York, was founded in 1970 by student government leaders from five SUNY campuses. SASU exists “to represent, advocate, and further the interests and welfare of the students of the State University of New York,” to serve as a network of student leaders across SUNY, and to represent students in state government and SUNY.

SASU is entirely student-run and student-funded. Its leadership consists of student government presidents and other representatives from its member campuses, as well as students representing its four caucuses (for students of color, women, students with disabilities, and lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgendered students).
